United Airlines returning to Auckland from San Francisco from October

United Airlines is set to bolster its network in the South Pacific with the reintroduction of flights from San Francisco, California to Auckland, New Zealand starting October 1, 2022.

The route will be operated by United’s Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner in a three-cabin configuration – with 44 United Polaris, 21 United Premium Plus and 253 United Economy seats – three times a week before being upgraded to service daily on October 28.

United Airlines will operate from October 2022 to March 2023 and follows the launch of flights from San Francisco to Brisbane, also in October, and United’s return to Melbourne from San Francisco recently.

Patrick Quayle, United’s senior vice president of international network and alliances, said the relaunch of Auckland flights was another significant moment for operations in the South Pacific, which also saw the carrier become the leading airline to add a new route – in Brisbane – between the United States and Australia since the pandemic.

“Throughout the pandemic, we’ve been looking for strategic ways to grow our international network, and we’re proud to be the first U.S. airline to put a new point on our route map across the Pacific.” he said of the Brisbane launch.

All seats on the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner are equipped with on-demand entertainment with hundreds of movies, TV shows and more.
