ISM Pundag Offers One Year Free Hotel Management Certificate Courses for SC/ST Students


Ranchi, 25th July: The Jharkhand State Scheduled Caste Co-operative Development Corporation Limited, Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand is offering a one-year free course on food production occupations at the Institute of Science and Management (ISM ), Pundag for Class X students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Explaining the idea, Dr Ganga Prasad Singh, Director of ISM, said the purpose of a one-year hotel management course is to educate, train and build a prosperous future for the industry. hotel, hotel and tourist industry by training competent, competent and behavioral people. youth.

Asked about the funding, Dr Singh said: ‘The government had put out the tender and we have completed our quotes. We had an idea of ​​this since we offered such courses earlier in 2005-2009. The requirements provided mentioned that a one-year skills-based, employment-oriented certificate course was to be developed, in which the institutions also offered internships. Funding is now provided by the government for the course.

ISM President RK Verma said constant study and humility are necessary to be talented and successful. He informed that the international hospitality industry is investing heavily in the country which will reach 50% share of tourism and hospitality sector in India by 2022.

He further added, “India holds a special place in the field of tourism on the world stage. Its climate, natural beauty, history and geographical features have attracted the world over the years.

He said that due to India’s tourism growth rate of 10% in the year 2019-2020 and the hotel industry’s compound growth rate of 13% by 2023, there is immense potential. jobs in the hospitality industry.

In particular, lectures would be given during the first six months. It will be followed by three months of industrial training in renowned five-star hotels. During the last three months, students will learn entrepreneurial skills through special sessions.

The special sessions will be conducted on topics such as effective management, project delivery, etc. After the training, the trainees will be helped to be employed through self-employment and internships in companies such as Hayyat, Taj, Oberoi Group and Lemon Tree, among others.
