IHG launches One Rewards global loyalty program

IHG Hotels and Resorts introduced its new IHG One Rewards global loyalty program, which was first launched by the company in January.

With nearly 6,000 hotels in more than 100 countries, the new rewards program is designed to help customers earn points faster when they book at IHG properties across 17 brands.

IHG Hotels and Resorts Global Chief Customer Officer Claire Bennett said the company has made significant investments in the loyalty program to provide more benefits to guests.

“This is one of the largest and most comprehensive investments IHG Hotels & Resorts has made in recent years,” she said.

“It’s also the biggest development we’ve made in loyalty since the introduction of the industry’s first loyalty program. We are truly transforming the customer experience by giving our loyal members more of what they want, more value, and exciting benefits delivered individually through new technology with our new mobile app.

The rewards program, which builds on feedback from IHG customers, hotel teams and owners, includes a new level and structure for earning previously reported bonus points, to allow members to earn more points faster, from April 13, 2022.

Other member perks include free breakfast for Diamond Elite members, exclusive access to Reward Night Discount promotions for Platinum Elite and Diamond Elite members, and the ability for Elite members to enjoy early check-in, free parking, and more. late check-out (if available) and room upgrade to suites, if available, or another type of premium room for Platinum Elite and Diamond Elite members.

IHG One Rewards also marks the introduction of Milestone Rewards – a technology platform that will allow members to choose the rewards that matter most to them, with options such as $20 F&B rewards, confirmable suite upgrades and an annual subscription to the show.

In the coming weeks, IHG will also be rolling out a new mobile app to support the loyalty program.

IHG says the modernized experience is “more personalized, offers easier booking, and allows members to stay informed, check in faster, stay connected to the hotel, and travel with flexibility.”

Bennett said the new program puts customers in control of their travel.

“It recognizes that no two members are the same and the famous – allowing guests to travel and mark milestones in their own unique way,” she said.

“Every day we welcome more guests to our hotels, and while the love of travel is universal, people’s reasons and ways of traveling differ. With IHG One Rewards, our members can create the rewards that are right for them.

Full member benefits will be available in early June 2022.
