Pro-invest Hotels and IHG Hotels and Resorts have launched New Zealand’s first dual-brand hotel development with the opening of Holiday Inn Express in Auckland this week alongside the recently opened voco Auckland City Centre.
The 294-room Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Center offers affordable accommodation with contemporary design. Each of the rooms has floor-to-ceiling windows and dedicated workstations.
“We have put a lot of thought into every detail of this hotel and are very proud to have the Holiday Inn Express brand alongside voco Hotel in New Zealand’s first dual-branded hotel development,” said Shantha de Silva, Managing Director. of the operation of Pro-invest Hotels. .
It was a year of “firsts” for Pro-invest Hotels, according to de Silva.
“The opening of this hotel tower marks a major milestone for our business,” he said.
“We were the first to introduce the voco brand to New Zealand and the first to introduce Holiday Inn Express to the country with our Queenstown property.
“Now, with the return of quarantine-free travel to New Zealand, we look forward to welcoming travelers to Auckland and look forward to our guests experiencing these new properties.”
Guests can enjoy food and drinks at the nearby voco Auckland City Center, including Mozzarella & Co. and Bar Albert, a rooftop bar on level 38 which will open in August.
Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Center uses energy-efficient equipment and systems and has chosen not to include single-use plastic. Pro-invest claims to be on the right track to obtain Green Engage certification.
