The South Australian government described it as a “hats-trick” for the takeover of South Australia’s $2 billion conferencing sector.

“It is a huge coup for our state and a real sign of confidence in Adelaide’s hospitality industry to be chosen as the host city for this major business event for the third consecutive year,” said the South Australia Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison.

“Despite the disruption of the pandemic, South Australia has seen strong hotel investment and occupancy rates that are among the highest in the country and are reaching record highs.

“We saw new hotels open including Crowne Plaza, Eos by SkyCity, Majestic M Suites, Hotel Indigo and Sofitel, adding nearly 1,000 combined rooms to our CBD.”
