Auckland’s Voco presents a rooftop bar on the 38th floor

Voco Auckland City Center has opened its rooftop restaurant, Bar Albert, said to be the tallest rooftop bar in the country.

Located on the 38th floor of the hotel, Bar Albert features Art Deco-inspired decor, an open-air terrace, private event space, and stunning city views.

World-renowned consultant Shane Giles of Blue Salt was consulted on the design of the bar, as well as the hotel’s other F&B concepts.

The dining offering is locally inspired with signature gins and cocktails designed around Auckland Street names including Eden Crescent, Napier Street, Chancery Street and Market Place.

Bar Albert champions locally produced wines – within a 50km radius – including Man O War from Waiheke or wines from the Kumeu River, as well as other New Zealand and international varieties. The bar also offers Matakana’s Sawmill Brewery alongside Peroni and soft drinks from East Imperial Tonics.

The food menu revolves around small plates to share including pizzas, an antipasto platter, pickled vegetables, artisan breads, dips and olives, small plates and cheeses.

The result of a partnership between Pro-invest Hotels and IHG Hotels and Resorts, the voco Auckland City Center opened its doors in May and marked the brand’s entry into the New Zealand market.

The 201-room state-of-the-art hotel is part of a two-tower development that also includes the 294-room Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Center.
