AC Hotel by Marriott will make its Australian debut in Melbourne

Marriott International is launching its design-focused AC Hotels brand in the Australian market with the opening of AC Hotel by Marriott Melbourne Southbank in April.

The property, which is owned by Capital Alliance, has 205 rooms and suites, a contemporary lobby, elevated check-in lounge, infinity pool, bar and restaurant .

Its modern design, signed DKO Architecture, is focused on quality and functionality, and is inspired by the region and the European heritage of the brand.

AC Hotel by Marriott Melbourne Southbank Managing Director Harry Singh said the brand was bringing a new style of hotel stay to the Australian market.

“Working in conjunction with leading architecture and design firm, DKO, we have brought to life the core elements of the AC design philosophy – every detail of the experience is meticulously thought out to create a seamless stay,” said Singh said.

“The AC brand is synonymous with sophisticated design with purpose, so customers have everything they need and nothing they don’t. We’ve orchestrated the entire hotel experience – our approach to every space is optimal comfort and utility through to modern decor, with open layouts offering functional beauty without distraction.

Beyond the hotel’s outdoor infinity pool, which spans the width of the building, the hotel’s leisure offerings also include a 24-hour fitness center, hotspots food and beverage outlets, and the AC Lounge – a modern coworking space that transforms into a social hub at night.

The opening represents Marriott International’s ninth hotel in Melbourne and the third new hotel to open in the Victorian capital in the past 12 months.
